Management
The Convalescent Homes
are managed by a Board of Trustee's. The RUC Benevolent Fund Management
Committee has four representatives on this board who update the
Committee on any issues or developments regarding management of
the Homes.
Locations
Convalescent Homes are
situated in Harrogate, Yorkshire, and Auchterarder, Perthshire and
offer professional physiotherapy, gym and swimming facilities. In
the main the Fund supports serving members who need to avail of
these services in order to stay at work, or to help them return
to work quickly.

Eligibility
Convalescence at the Homes
is open to serving officers and ex members. The applicant receives
a form from the Fund which has to be completed by the applicant's
GP, or consultant. There must be clear evidence from a medical professional
that the applicant will be able to use the professional physiotherapy

Any person applying for
a third visit or more, or a return visit within a 14 month period,
will have their application carefully considered by the Management
Committee. Attendance is subject to approval by the Management Committee.
Each application is carefully
assessed on its merits. The medical evidence must support the application,
e.g. strongly recommending physiotherapy. It is most important facilities
and services required by the applicant are used to their utmost
benefit. Criteria include the number of times the applicant has
previously used the facilities, and the overall demand for places.
